sorry for the EXTREME lack of updates. same reasons as outlined in the post below, however there are some happy news tidbits too! i'm writing this update on my shiny new macbook! his name is matthias and he is aaaamazing :) also, i found jobs! the first is at the macarthur mall's body shop, no not a car shop a the body shop with lotions and no animal testing and community trade products and make up and it's not too bad. the downside is i have to deal with al the dumb people who wander in asking 'wassat smell?' and 'do y'all have lotion?!' but it's a job and it's keeping me busy. my other job is teaching swimming lessons for a program called RAPS (Really Awesome People Swimming) essentially what happens is kids from underpriviledged neighborhoods are bused in for free swimming lessons. it's draining like all swimming lessons are but with the added fun of names like nyquan, jermario, shaniqua, zarria etc. and this is my last week of lessons. i've gotten a sweet swimsuit tan and it's kept me busy so it's been good. i can't believe this summer is so close to done!!
oh and like everyone else in the entire world i've been obsessing over harry potter lately. i finished the book on monday morning at like 1am. it was bittersweet as is the ending of any great series but at least i know the mania will continue for the next couple of years as the last two movies come out. i'm not gonna lie...i cried during the last book but it was SO GOOD. go read it!
there have been a few trips as well this summer. curtis and i went up to northern virginia for a wedding of a friend. it was a good time but probably the most awkward wedding ever. but we decided that we were going to have fun anyway and promptly drank abouuuut a bottle of wine each and danced the night away. after that we headed over to blacksburg for some gillies breakfast and the cellar's hammertime. it was a really short but lovely trip. i even got to meet my new roomates and see our cute little house. we have a giant kitchen and a basement that will be perfect for shows/dances. i'm very excited!
anne also came to va beach for a bit. we went and saw philip uster and the house floor play at the boot. good times were had by all. i went to the boot again this past weekend with andrew who came over from bristol for the weekend. i have a feeling it will become a favorite haunt in norfolk.
well i must close here. unfortuntely the internet is not letting me upload pictures in a timely manner so those will have to come later.
i'm heading to blacksburg for good on the 14th and once the dust settles i promise more regular updates.
hearts!
